Gillis Elementary 2026–2027 Student Dress Code – Bring Your A Game

Tops: Gillis Elementary spirit shirts or solid white, purple, navy, or hunter green polo shirts are allowed. Uniform shirts must be worn underneath outerwear.

Bottoms: Khaki, navy, or black pants, shorts, or skirts are allowed. Blue or black jeans without rips or holes are also allowed. Shorts and skorts must be fingertip length.

Outerwear for the classroom: Sweaters, sweater vests, sweatshirts, and light jackets are allowed in khaki, navy, hunter green, white, or purple. Gillis or Bronco insignia only. Hoodies are not allowed. A uniform shirt must be worn underneath.

Jumpers: Khaki or navy jumpers are allowed. Shorts and a uniform top must be worn underneath.

Footwear: Closed-toe shoes with a back are required. Sandals are not allowed.

Not allowed: Hoodies or hooded pullover jackets; boutique or homemade spirit shirts; denim shorts of any color; cargo pants or shorts; leggings; athletic or windsuit-material bottoms; jeans with rips or holes; movie or book characters or slogans on classroom outerwear; and metal water bottles. Skirts and shorts must be no shorter than three inches above the knee.

Reminders: Heavy coats and jackets may be worn to and from school and/or outdoors but may only be worn outdoors. Gillis follows the 2026–2027 Calcasieu Parish School Board Dress Code. Official Gillis spirit wear is available only through Southern Custom Prints and helps support the school.
